Well, I wish I had known all this 3 months ago!
We found IBL through an internet search for small business loans, they state on their website that they are one of few companies which are endorsed by the SBA etc. As "packagers" of the SBA loans.
We were told 2 months ago that they had all of our paperwork and details and that our 'package' was being sent out at that time.
We went through 3 different people who were supposedly handling our loan package - the first was Darren, then Karen Baca (when unable to reach her, we were told at first that she was on vacation, then were told that she was transferred to a different branch); then the 3rd person we spoke to to complete the package.
I phoned a month ago and was told that We would hear directly from the SBA before they would, so we waited.
I phoned today - Darren answered the phone and when I explained the reason for my call, we were??? Disconnected???
I phoned right back, Darren answered again and then told me that our package had been returned denied, that he had 'trimmed' it and was sending it out either today or tomorrow.
During this conversation is when I decided to google their name (I had done this back in April, but had not found anything) AND, lo and behold — here are several similar stories to ours.
Someone needs to stop these internet theives.
Small business owners or hopeful owners turn to these people to help and guide them. Their big selling point is that they can submit all information to the SBA in the "required" format so that we have a better chance of funding.
If anyone else is DOING something about them, please let us know - we are More Than Willing to testify.
