No firstmonth billing after making a purchase:
This is a repeated type of scam, I have seen in the last 6 months with two different popular companies.
1. I made a sofa and endtable form Haverty's on a 36 month no Interest payment plan.
2. I received my Haverty's store credit card in the first 2 weeks.
3. Following the store card, I received a change to my payment agreement and it stated that I have to make a monthly payment of xx amount everymonth. I thought ok thats fair.
4. I waited and about 2 weeks I didnt get any billing/payment statements.
5. Contacted the phone# on the back of the card.
6.By phone inquiry, I learned that my first month deadline for payment is only 5 days ahead.
7. I immediately called the customer service and they confirmed that they mailed my billing statement 3 weeks before.
8. From customer service rep, who was very polite (I thought some hard working family guy), I got the payment address and immediately send a personal cheque for the minimum payment. While on phone with the rep, I explain to him, Iam sending a payment and explain to him the situation and asked to not to penalize for my late payment.
9. Waited 4 days, Checked my account and its not debited.
9. I called CitiFinance and they said, they didn't get the cheque.
10. It took another 2 weeks for CitiFinance to post my payment to my account.
11. Meanwhile I pulled a Credit bureau Report and noticed there was a delinquent payment. Now I have to fight wih the Credit bureau's and CitiFinance to get this erased from my credit history.
12. My advise watch out... The finance institutes are prying on innocent customers. Avoid by all means CitiFinance and its vendors if possible...
