My wife and I purchased new carpet from World Wide Flooring under written by GE Money Bank. The first year, interest was deferred. Our plan as with many others was to pay it off before the interest kicks in. Throughout the year we received 3 statements.
As time went by, we didn't realize we weren't getting all our statements, but we did catch it before the 1 year was up. We called and asked for our statement, we wanted to pay it off with our home equity loan we took out, and told them we haven't been receiving them. They said they would send it out.
They sent it out after the interest started accruing. They started calling everyday, several times a day, Sundays, left no message on the answering machine, if we couldn't get to the phone and on my cell phone it would be a private or number unavailable.
My wife talked to them several times, telling every supervisor she talked to (all named Shaun, in India) and they were getting very hostile on the phone and rude. They kept telling us that they sent the bill, (why theirs is the only one we never received is beyond me, OH that's right, because they never sent it!). Then they switched up and said " we really don't have to send any bills during the deferred interest period".
All we want to do is pay off them amount we owe, with no interest. They said there is nothing they can/will do. Looking around on the internet, there seems to be this re-occuring problem with GE Money Bank. I really have a hard time believing that a company this large and wealthy would be pulling scams like this. I Really have a hard time beleiving that they don't know about these problems, since they are posted all over the internet.
I can't let this go and give in to pay them the interest which would basically be stolen money. There has got to be something that can be done!?
