I used Mercury Payment Systems (MPS) as my credit card service provider for my business and let me tell you, these people are just plain unprofessional, a rip-off and do false advertising. Avoid them at all cost, there are much better honest companies out there that won't try to rip you off. If you already signed up with Mercury Payment Systems thinking they won't charge you a cancellation fee (because that's what it says in their advertising) I strongly recommend looking for another company to use for your credit card processing.

When I signed up with Mercury Payment Systems, I was told that there was no time commitments and no cancellation fees what so ever. Great, sounds good to me... But wait a minute:

I just recently sold my business and had to cancel my credit card service. About a month later I see a $295 charge on my business bank account from their company, so I called them up and they told me it was a termination fee and there was nothing they could do about it. They told me that it was impossible for them to refund it or wave it (but they could take it out of your account so easily) when I asked if I could have it refunded and I would pay it some other way (this was just to see if they were able to refund it since I was told there was no way of doing it...) they said sure, if you give us a credit card number over the phone... Why, so you could charge me twice for something I'm not supposed to get charged for in the first place? I don't think so. On top of that, two days later there was a $29.95 charge on my account from them. Total cancellation fees (so far...): $324.95, unbelievable.

And by the way, when you call them to cancel your service they won't even tell you about any termination fees, you'll just get a big surprise in your bank account after the fact.

Right now I'm working on getting some of this money back from my bank since none of these charges were authorized. I had to have my bank change my account to a limited account (which means no money can be taken out, you can only make deposits) just to stop Mercury Payment Systems from draining my bank account with unauthorized charges.
