I have been medically retired from the US Army as of February 1, as a result I' am 100% permanently disabled all service-connected from the wars/conflicts/injuries / bottom line service to my country. I have been unable to work since I was eligible to work for someone else since November 4. But during the 10 month battle with the Veterans Administration with very little income coming in I still had to live, E.G. Mortgage, insurance, property taxes, son in college, daughters braces and normal bills so I had to run up a credit card bills much higher than I ever wanted too. GMAC in their infinite wisdom have responded to my dilemma by maxing out my interest rate to a crazy 30.9% ($277 just in interest this month April now they have cost me over $550.00 just in interest and that is before I make my regular payment to them in two months) for no reason what so ever. I have never under paid, I have never missed a payment in fact I have always overpaid. I never received any kind of notification that they were going to do this and I can not afford these ridiculous interest rates! I' am looking at my credit report that I printed out April 10 from Experian and it says I have ZERO potentially negative items as I type this and that I have 35 accounts in good standing. I spoke to two different supervisors from GMAC and they both lied to me one stated it is because my income changed so drastically (they do not even know my income) and they could care less if it is because I have been wounded in battle (protecting them while they screw our honest hard working Americans) and can no longer work! They also stated that it was a business decision and that it can not be changed, and I know for a fact that is a bold face lie! They both lied to me and said they would send out the notification that I was supposed to get four months prior to them taking this action and I still have not received it.instead they thought I was so stupid they could send me some BS letter saying this is not a negative reflection on your part Mr. Somervill. THEY ALSO SAID THAT IT DOES NOT MATTER IF I SIGNED A LEGALLY BINDING CONTRACT AND THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE TO TELL ME OF ANY CHANGES THEY MADE TO MY ACCOUNT AND THEY COULD DO WHATEVER THEY WANTED WITHOUT MY PRIOR KNOWLEDGE LET ALONE MY AGREEMENT! Have you lost you friggen minds? Do you think I am going to lose my house and my family because your trying to rip me off? I guess you really do not understand anything about surviving combat Veterans do you? We adapt and overcome very well and you guys picked the wrong man to try to steal from. My degree is in Business, just because I chose to protect America all of my life and will until I am dead does not mean I am stupid, ignorant or could not do anything else! That is what I chose to do; Soldiers do not choose to be Soldiers for any amount of money. This would not be an issue if you would have just left my interest rate at the rate that I agreed upon when I signed the contract. I have been a valued customer of GMAC for over a decade to include financing a $30,000.00 car through you back in 2000 and never being late, under paid or missed a payment in anyway shape, form or fashion! This is how Corporate America, no I am sorry I mean GMAC treats the disabled Veterans of America for protecting your freedom, Democracy and your way of life? I will get every organization to include DAV, The American Legion and every congressman, senator and all three of the Presidential candidates involved starting with Senator John McCain (I am sure he would love to know how is comrades in arms are being treated) that I need to in order to get this resolved for all disabled Veterans; our disabled Veterans deserve a hell of a lot better treatment than this! I will expose your greedy asses for exactly what your corporation is and exactly what it stands for if it is the last thing I do on this earth. I am fed up with the real heroes of this country getting screwed because we took it upon ourselves to protect America which unfortunately includes the crooked ass parts of Corporate America! I would much rather pay an organization that appreciates what all branches of the military do verses one that could care less about the disabled military Veterans of America. I am attaching all proof of my income and my VA decision letter with proof of income. Thank you in advance for your time and any and all help/guidance is greatly appreciated. Get prepared to be exposed and it is not just GMAC that is getting this letter or the other three companies that purchased 51% of GMAC, I am personally contacting all of your investors too and when I say all of them I mean just that. I have had enough and Im not taking anymore of this abuse from any organization on this planet.
