I recieved a letter in the mail on march 20. It was very odd. I first noticed it was sent from Canada with no return address, then once opened I read letter it stated that I had won a $39000. Home improvement grant. I had been selected through publisher clearinghouse and readers digest databases. This also included a check for $4940. The letter said to ativate account and check to call 1-289-892-4032 and ask for Tony Young or Heather Snow. I did not call the number because there were too many odd things that I noticed about this that told me this was a scam. First of all it was sent from Canada, commerce trust is located in New York, the check was from a company called Transport services inc out of olney IL. And also as I have already said there was no return address on outside of envelope. Then today I decided to check it out on the internet and found this site. BINGO! Thank God I did not cash this check! Thank You complaint.com!
