Direct deposit advance refusal without notification causing overdraft

Okay, so I wanted to take an advance at christmas time (Dec. 14th). We had to pay a little more tan normal on some of our bills and were going to use the rest of the advance for food, gas, and a few small presents for our kids.

But when I tried to take one I was told that I couldn't even though our account had not been overdrawn for the amount of time stated in their user agreement for direct deposit that would make direct deposit unavailable. So with no notice, my available advance balance was adjusted from 500 to 0.3 days later (Dec. 17) I recieved my statement from the previous month that did notify me but not before I tried to take it.

So I had no money to buy my kids any christmas gifts or to feed my family and transport my husband to and from work for the next 2 weeks.By the end of the month we were over 800 dollars overdrawn due to overdraft fees, continuos overdraft fees, and service charges imposed upon us even though our account was supposed to be a free checking account.

I can't believe that they would refuse access to it and then charge me because they didnt notify me although their direct deposit agreement states that they would give written notice if accessability to said funds were to change. Apparently telling me in writing 3 days after I tried to take it and was denied is acceptable to Wells Fargo, but it is not an acceptable way to run a business especially a bank.

They should really give enough time for the person to recieve the notice before they revoke access or at least reverse some of the charges that were incurred because of their failure to notify us in a reasonable or timely manner.
