I applied for a Pioneer First VISA Platinum card (or so I thought) and paid $149.95, which was to be credited back to my credit card. I received an email stating that I would receive my account number and PIN in ten days and my credit card within four weeks.
After I received nothing, I emailed the company regarding my application. I received no reply to my email. I emailed again — no reply. I sent two other emails advising that I would take legal action and report this company to all banking authorities and regulators, which I did, (Federal Comptroller, Utah Financial Institutions and the Federal Trade Commission).
I was told by each of these offices that Pioneer First was a scam and many, many people had been taken and that Pioneer First was being investigated by the FTC. I filed a complaint (over the phone) with the FTC and was told if there was any recovery (?) I would receive my money back, if there was any money to recover.
Well, there is no telephone listing for Pioneer First in Bountiful, UT. While doing some investigating on my own, I found out that Pioneer First is doing business as Westcal Equipment, Inc., located in Bluffdale, UT. Guess what, there is no listing for Westcal either. Surprised? When I call the 800 numbers I am routed to a 900 number for which I have to pay to get connected. Yeah, right, like they are going to get more of my money.
I am a disabled woman, living on social security and certainly cannot afford to have $150.00 stolen from me.
If anyone does any research on Pioneer First, they will find out what I found out — bye, bye money. Please BEWARE of this outfit — they are scam artists and this I was told by all three of the organizations listed above.
I may not ever get my money back, but I hope people don't keep falling for this mess of evil-doers. It makes me sick to my stomach to think there are people who can, without any conscience, take money from a person like me, living on a fixed income. I hope the government catches up with this mess of slime and give them the "credit" they deserve!!!
