Add my complaint to the ever growing pile. A customer in good standing with Next Card my monthly bottom line was sold to Merrick Bank and since I am unable to instantly pay off my $800 balance, I am powerless to do a damn thing about.
My interest rates rose by 8% overnite and I am now paying over $100 in "annual fees" simply for the thrill of having this card in my wallet. None of which I agreed to when I signed off with Next Card. Canceling my card (which I did) proved ineffective.
I must continue to pay 29 % interest rates and annual fees I never agreed to until such time as I can retire the debt in toto. Unbelievable. I am amazed this is legal. If any knows of avenues of redress please contact me.
