Wells Fargo and how they are stealing your hard earned money by creative charges and or changing the rules/policies when it benifets them.

I am not one of the best record keepers in the world and I do have issues with transposing numbers which is no way the fault of Wells Fargo. With this said I will go on to explain the recent events that have left me at the present time for the next 19 days without funds.

On the 16th of December I made a deposit by way of the ATM in my local area. It was late at night and it was a check that should have been made as a direct deposit but for some unknown reason it was rejected on Wells Fargo's end. I pulled up to where the envelopes are, grabbed an envelope inserted the check, flipped the envelope over, wrote my name, the account number on the front of the envelope. I pulled up to the ATM and inserted my ATM card and proceeded to enter the information of the deposit. That done I went home.

The next day which is the 17th I am at work and getting ready to leave and go do my job I go to my truck to get somethig out of passengers seat side. As I opened the door there laid an envelope with the check I had just deposite the night before. Well I will have to deposit the check when I get back into town. During the day the ATM was opened up and the bank found the deposit minus the check.in this kind of scenario Wells Fargo has a ZERO TOLERANCE on these kinds of deposits. They decided that they will proceed with closing my account because of this infraction. On the 18th the original check that I tried to deposit the night before shows up in the ATM. That same day Wells Fargo made the final decision to close my account (the day before was the decision to make the decision to close the account). With this done my account is now closed out and all transactions on the account are frozen no debits no credits. There was the issue of my deposit from the night before, that was before the decision to close my account on the 18th. Well they ran the debits first which then put my account in an overdrawn state. Then they ran the deposit. It was of course short of covering my debits because they ran the debits first.

It now the 21st of the month and still I am clueless that there is a problem with my checking account, I have direct deposit with my employer and I should have funds in my account, thank goodness it has been 3 mths of living from paycheck to paycheck as I had recently moved to this city and I will have extra funds this week. I go to the ATM and try to withdraw some funds. My card is immediately rejected. What the heck well I do not have time to mess around it is christmas time and it is a time that is really busy for us at work so I will call the number I said I had to call when I tried to get the funds needed. I tried a couple of times thoughout the day to contact that number only to hear that they are experiencing high call volumes. It was around 5:30 that night when I finally got to someone and they asked for my account number. Well I do have dyslexia so I gave them the number that was floating in my head and promptly mixed 4 numbers up and also the last valid deposit I made. At that point the lady said she could not help me or discuss anything with me. I asked her what time they close. They are open Monday thru Friday until 6:30 central daylight time. I figured I could make it back to town in time to get the information and give them a call. I called in at 6:25 No answer because by the time I got through the hold time and entering all the information and why is not my account number me to someone right away and why is it telling me if I forgot my pin number. Well that was it for today and according to the lady earlier they are not open on the weekends. I still have food and I just fueled up my vehicle I can make it until the 24th of the month which is christmas eve. Appparently they do not work on christmas eve because no answrer.

If you move forward to this past Friday as the next three days after christmas is all the same. I finally get into this Loss Prevention center and they tell me that my account was scheduled to be closed on the 18th of the month and there are no transactions allowed on my account NO DEBITS OR CREDITS. But according to my online account I see that they have been charging me overdraft fees and ran the cash advance how is this possible? We are the bank and that is money owed to us. Wait this does not seem right if there are no transactions allowed on my account since the 18th then how is that possible to run the banks charges if there cannot be any transactions that will process on my account. She told me that she is not going to argue with this and that was final. I will be getting a cashiers check in the mail ten business days from the day that they decided to close my account.

I called the bank on Saturday the 28th of this month. To see if I could get some funds out as I am now without any funds and have not had anything to eat in 42 hrs now. This call started at 11:20. And lasted for 2hrs. I will according to Wells Fargo wait for the cashiers check that they will mail out to me after the ten business days and beings the tenth business day falls on a Friday the check will be mailed out on Monday, because it takes more then a few minutes to print that check out. According to a webpage that goes under the title "The Wells Fargo Stickup" dated February 16th 1981 states "the transfer of $7.9 billion last month from American banks to the Bank of England as part of the deal to free the American hostages in Iran took less than ten minutes." And this was in 1981.

Right now I am without funds was not notified at my new address by mail, for some odd reason when I called into Wells Fargo last month to give them my new permanent address it never got updated. I was told by one of the customer service reps that they were having computer issues last month with the database.

The bottom line here is that Wells Fargo policy is to hold all funds in the account for 10 business days and they will deterimine what constiutes when they start to count the business days. I will be responsible for all fees that are incurred on my account that they feel that they can apply to the account as it is in limbo even though they state that all transactions are suspended while my account is being closed. I said that does not make sense if the account is suspended and no transactions can process then how can the bank process fees that is a transaction. We are the bank and we can make debits against your account. Beings that Wells Fargo tells us at the beginning of the call that this phone call will be recorded for training purposes I asked for a transcript or a copy of the recording of this conversation. He told me that Wells Fargo does not do this as it is not public information. It is not the general public that is asking for this information I am on this conversation. He told me that this is not going to happen I am going to be getting a cashiers check and it will be mailed out on the 7th of January. I told him his response is unacceptable. He told me unfortunately that is the way it is. I said well at least I was smart enough to have the entire phone conversation recorded right from the begining of the call. He got very upset with me and told me that he did not give me permission to record his voice. YOU SEE WELLS FARGO WILL STRONG ARM YOU INTO SUBMISSION SO THEY CAN ROB YOU OF ANY CASH THAT THEY FEEL THEY WANT.

Now that I have the recorded conversation making several copies and uploading them into several spots so I will know I can get a copy of that file when ever needed. If anyone is interested in hearing this conversation I am more then willing to send a copy of how rude and nasty the people at Wells Fargo can be. I hope that Wells Fargo CEO Dick Kovacevich realizes that stealing money from hard working individuals to line his pockets and his executive board is pretty sad.
