Dont go to wamu this is why!!!
I got my real estated license recently and i luckily sold a house my first week. I opened an account prior to that. I deposited $100.00 which was some old money i had saved up from a prior job I had. Problem starts when i pick out a pin number over the phone. I activate my debit card and i go out to put some gas in my car and go do some grocery shopping. I get to the register and my card is declining. Notice i wrote my pin number down and i have always used the same pin number at prior banks.
I get there and its declining, so i the cashier tells me to try it as debit. I dont like using a debit card as credit because the transaction takes like 2 to 3 days to clear from your account. But its really a week so thats a lie already!
That and they gave me their own pin number which i didnt get for a week later in my first statement. What kind of bank does that? You tell em one number but they give you another! So what im saying is they want you to keep using yor card while transactions go through.in easier terms, they want you to overdraft! I get my check from helping sell the house to deposit it. Every bank i have ever been too notifies me that i have an overdraft ahead of time!
Nope not WAMU, they deposited the money in the account and snatch it right there. I noticed it when i got my statement with the balance from the liar oops i meant teller. I dont know how i got my overdraft cause my dad is an accountant and tells me how to balance my check book. I had an overdraft from a soda i bought for a dollar. So basically i paid $39 for a pepsi three times!
Then here and there money would be dissapering from my account cause everyday i checked my balance it was lower like ten bucks each day! And i would call them to ask what the error was and everytime one teller would give me a dumb run around and the other would put the money back into the account and aplogized for the mistake. I never used my credit card after the first overdraft incident. If i needed cash i would go to the bank and ask the teller for it!
One day i had enough and went into the bank enraged and demanded my account be closed. The teller said i had some transactions that needed to clear. I asked what they were, she said at a gas station you bought such and such. I was like that was 2 weeks ago. So i left $300.00 dollars in the bank so the transactions would pay off. When i learned it finally went through, i went to get my money out to close the account. They told me the account had already been closed. I asked for the remaing amount of money left.
They said sir you closed your account. I totally went off on them and they said we can send you another debit card and you can get your money there! They totally robbed me of like one hundred and something dollars! I took a lawyer into the bank who deals with fraud and the bank gave me my money back!
People dont go to wamu for your account needs! If you dont want someone to have their hands in your pockets other than you then dont bank with wamu. They are the worst bank there is!
