I went online to obtain a credit report, and was not aware that in charging the initial cost of the report to my credit card, I was authorizing this company to bill me for $9.95 per month for a specificied length of time. When I called the company to ask for cancellation, I received a reply that (1) my son, for whom I obtained the credit report, would have to cancel, even though I am paying the bill, and (2) I needed my account number which I never received. I think this is a totally unfair practice. I know that the buyer should be aware, but concessions should be made to consumers trying to rectify the problem. I am appalled to think what I have paid for a single credit report.
