Loan Sharks charge what they want when they want and by aggressive and unlawful means

I purchased a vehicle at a small car lot, which used Mullen Finance as the lender. For the first year in my Finance Agreement, Mullen Finance sent me a monthly statement, just like any other Lender or Financial Institution would, to keep me up to speed about my payment history, balances, etc. I ran into some financial trouble a while back and fell behind on my payments. I know, my responsibility. Well, that's when the trouble began. The billing statements which, according to employees at Mullen whose names I will not disclose at this time, were allegedly generated automatically every month, stopped coming to me in the mail.

I confirmed my address with Mullen several times, and still, no billing statements. I did however, receive numerous threatening letters from Mullen about late payments, (which, by the way, came with a payment envelope) however, no dollar amount was indicated anywhere on the letters, only statements saying I'd better make a payment or my vehicle would be repossessed. I called Mullen Finance about the matter, and each time I spoke with different employees, (who were actually very rude and demeaning despite the fact I was rather polite) I was told I owed differnt amounts which ranged from or - $200.00 of my monthly premium.

So, I made the payments like they demanded. Matter resolved, right? Well, for the most part it was okay for a while. Then, the matter of Insurance came up. My insurance policy expired, and I couldn't afford to purchase another policy right away. My problem, I know. So, Mullen attached their own insurance policy onto my loan and started charging me almost $200.00 a month more top my loan. This threw me off, and I fell behind again. I was told by several employees at Mullen Finance that If I got my own Insurance, they would adjust my loan back to the original amount I owed. So, I did this. My insurance carrier sent them a copy of my new policy via FAX, and I also mailed them a few copies. No adjustments were made. I spoke to them about the matter, and was told they never received anything. Then, shortly after, Mullen's employees began calling my references, telling them the details of the matter, including discussing personal information about me and my account. I know that this is illegal.

When I confronted Mullen's employees about this, they laughed at me in a sarcastic manner and said they could and would tell anyone anything about me in order to "Flush me out" I also aked them on many occasions to please (yes, I said please) send me a bill so I could know my balance, monthly payment, etc. I was told, in an aggressive manner by several of Mullen's employees "We don't have to send you anything. We send bills as a courtesy. You know what you owe and you better pay. I asked those same Mullen employees "How am I supposed to know what I owe if you keep adjusting my balance every month without me knowing?" They responded with "You'll pay what we tell you to pay... If not, we'll be looking for you!" I would send payments, and they would never be enough. Its been over six months, and I have not yet received a billing statement from Mullen Finance Plan. I do, however, continue to receive late notices and letters saying I owe an undiscclosed amount. Now, getting back to the insurance issue. I sent them one last copy of my policy which went into affect 2 months ago. I confirmed that they received it a week and a half before last months billing cycle came up.

They only processed the adjustment a few days ago, and tacked on an additional 224 dollars to my balance. Again, MULLEN's mistake. Once again, I called Mullen about it. One of those same rude and demeaning employees gave me "The Royal Treatment". To sum things up, Mullen Finance Plan: A) Refuses to send my monthly billing statements B) Adjust my balances without my knowledge C) Continues contacting my references and discloses personal information about myself and the matter D) Continues to "Not Receive" payments, even though I have money order receipts and follow up on them to verify if they have been paid, and E) CONTINUES TO THREATEN ME AND TREAT ME IN AN UNPROFESSIONAL AND THREATENING MANNER. I have been stressed out to the point that I now suffer from anxiety and was forced to cut off contact with my references due to the fact that Mullen Finance Plan in Santa Ana, CA, has tarnished my reputation with my references and have defamed my character.
