I am currently being sued by unifund, they started a court hearing in a city i have not lived in for over 6 years, I looked up online found my name in the court dockets (along with many others sued by unifund.)
turns out I had a court date for aug. 29, and they were going for a default judgement. The judge gave me till october 1 to reply with an answer, and a court date of october, 30.
The thing I dont understand is how they got my account. The account they are claiming for has been closed and company has no record of my name, however i did have an account with them but I quit paying about may of 02, as I did with all my other debts, They started a claim in court in october of 07 claiming I defaulted in november of 07. The debt was for under 1100 they are suing for over 3500.
Unfortunatly I dont know what to do and I cant afford a lawyer, and dont no where to find help.
