Contacted by American Capitol to purchase a low interest credit master card. $249 withdrawn from my checking acct within 14 days and then they will forward a form from a financial institution to fill out and return. The card will then be shipped within 72 hours.
4/30/02 contacted. 5/14/02 money withdrawn from account.
6/5/02 fed ex package arrived with a catalog and an american capitol credit card to purchase merchandise from their catalog using a $4000 limit. Action Notice supposed to be there within 3 weeks to send to get Master Card.
20 calls later and countless hours an the phone speaking to everyone at their company never received anything.
8/27/02 supervisor was supposed to call me and never did. They closed up shop and the Number was disconnected.
Traced the number to Sprint Canada and they indicated that the number was disconnected and no information could be given.
Contacted Phonebusters in Ontario and told them the story and they are starting the investigation.
Saw an article regarding them on the internet from WTVQ 36 on your side in Lexington, KY dated 8/27/02.
They said over 700 phone calls about AC with the BBB and 52 formal complaints in Wilmington, DE where they said they were working from. Looks like it was a drop box in DE and the Company is based in Canada. I did get a Stanford CT address as their office but my guess is that is Bogus.
