GE Money Bank
Poor service!

I had "no-interest for 12 months" financing with Care Credit, a subsidiary of GE, that was paid off early because I returned the merchandise for full credit. The company refunded the purchase price to GE on June 29. As time for my next payment drew near, I called Care Credit (on July 16) to see if the credit had been issued; it had, and a man named Dan said my credit balance was $1100 and I would be sent a check for that amount. I asked why it hadn't been sent upon receipt of payment from the retailer; he said I had to request a refund, which I did at that time.

Today, August 28, I still have no check, so I called again. A smart-mouthed operator said there was no record of my requesting a refund, but she would issue a "work order" for the refund and I would get it in 5-30 days. I argued that I had, indeed, requested a refund on July 16, but she said no I didn't, so I asked to speak to a supervisor.

Usually, I have found supervisors much more understanding than the regular operators, but not in this case. This guy, a wise-ass whose name was Rock, I think, was as bad, if not worse, than the first contact. Neither of them wanted to stop talking long enough to hear my complaint about the delay in getting my money, and both of them, for all practical purposes, called me a liar for saying I had called on July 16.

What a way to run a railroad, as they used to say. Here's hoping that I will finally get my refund after GE using my money free of charge for about three months.

I guess the mantra I learned from my father that "the customer is always right" ceased to exist a long time ago — along with customer service, friendliness in the workplace, and things like that.
