I received a "Settlement Opportunity" letter from MCM. To the best of my recollection, this is a 20 year old debt of $525.64. MCM is offering to settle for $394.23. I don't even know if I owe anything. I went through a bad time and a friend who was a CPA wrote letters to alll my creditors. Citibank never replied. I paid monthly payments and paid off the debts. I sent payments to Citibank but am not sure they were totally paid off as they never responded to my correspondence.
I have had an excellent credit rating for many years and always pay my bills. If I owe anybody it would be Citibank, not MCM. After reading some things about MCM on the internet, I hesitate to call them. I am 68, on Social Security. I had to quit work due to health problems. Do I have to respond to MCM?
