I started completing offers last week on freebie websites for a buyer to buy my credits so they can earn cash and prizes from those sites.
I clicked on a supposedly free offer from Sterling Visa. I filled out the application and everything seemed to be in order. There was never any mention during the entire application process that there would be an application or processing fee, or that details of such were explained in the terms and conditions.
EDP Card took $159.95 out of one of my checking accounts, overdrawing it substantially. They then claim I put in a second application using a different checking account and took another $159.95 out of that account! Since edp is a financial clearing house, I'm sure they didn't have much trouble getting all of my other financial information.
I admit, I didn't locate and read the "terms & conditions" prior to applying for the card. I couldn't even find the link when I specifically went looking for it after I had already been ripped off. When I found it and clicked on it, I found out about the fee. It was in the extremely small, faint print everybody uses for legalese on their websites.
I'm accusing them of false advertising and theft from my checking accounts. I'm going to my banks tomorrow to file complaints, and in this state, you also have to file a police report for the banks to refund your money. So I'll do that as well. I'll file an update here and let everyone know how I fair.
