I received my new orchard bank credit card a few weeks ago. I purchased a couple hundred dollars on it. I signed up for their online bill pay service. The site requires you to enter the account number for your bank twice to guarantee no mistakes. Somehow, magically, the last digit was dropped off in their records. This allows them to hit me with a returned payment fee of $35. This is a total ripoff scam! Rip-off scam! I called them, they told me to call my bank, which i did. My bank told me there is usually a small entry that should of been used first to verify the account. Something like one cent or five cents or thirteen cents, something like that. My bank shows no record of any transactions whatsoever. Orchard blames me for entering the wrong info in my account. Which is bull! How and why would I accidently forget to type the last digit of the account number twice in a row??? I called them back and had to yell at the guy and he told me to transfer to the internet dept. Which he did and they did not answer. So the same guy came back on and told me to call back. I said forget that, let me speak to your supervisor. She came on and did the same exact thing, which verified to me that this is a scam. After the run around with the internet dept led nowhere. I was yelling at her at this point. I told her to take the charge off my account or I cancell my card. She then said to me a threatening voice that she could do that right now if I wish. I said FINE DO IT!!! That is why she offered to remove the 35 dollar charge off my account and I said fine you better do it now. I have to wait for my next bill to come in the mail just to see if she did what she said. I hope that she did. I am paying off my bill and cancelling the card. Especially now that I read here on usacomplaints.com that other people had the same expirence with this company. HSBC are ripoff artists and no one should ever do business with them!!!
