I just read a report from California, I am going through the exact same thing right now, I get paid every week, and I either get a direct deposit, or nothing, so Wells Fargo knows they have got me by the neck, and of course they keep making up all of these new rules because they put me on this "Oppertunity Checking".
I went along my merry way making debit point of sale purchases, because all other banks will deny if the money is gone, but no not wells fargo. I am not saying I don't owe them any money, I have figured out that I owe them $104.22, but they are now saying that because of these overdraft fees, I owe $361.90.
I have already canceled my direct deposit, but they will be thinking they are getting their money tomorrow, I have news for them. I will be reporting them to my District Atty, the BBB, and I will be contacting the local news people, we have a few very good reporters here that live to expose this kind of crap.
I suddenly had some debit charges show up this week from like two weeks ago, things from companies I know do not hold debit's, like Wendy's, and McDonalds, I have caught Wells Fargo in the act, so I hope they are prepared for the hail storm I am about to bring.
