I have read through some reportings; I received an email (thought it was junk mail) I opened it and it was a document for a loan. I sent an email back to the sender saying I was not interested in their loan. They funded a loan for $300.00 I contacted them and said I did not want this loan and emailed them accordingling. They said I signed the contract? I went back to the email and found they had electronically signed my name, etc. (Is this not fraud?)
They did not reverse the loan and said I needed to send a fax to cancel the loan, I did (the loan was never cancelled) They took $90 out of my account. I contacted them again, told them I sent a fax stating that I did not want to renew this loan, they said they never got it? I was contact by someone from the "account resolution department" I called her back and received and email saying they would give me a "One time credit of my $90 (How nice of them) I responed to the email (as they requested) I communicated all of my history with them and told them I would report them. They resinded the offer to credit my account for the $90.. (unbelievable) I contacted my bank to block them from taking more fees out of my account, which they said they would. Today however, there is an electronic check stating it was "Pre-authorized Debit" (which I did not authorize) for $480.00. I contacted my bank and have not heard from them yet. I have now paid $270 for a loan of $300!
I read all of these activities from this company, is there nothing consumers can do? I can not believe that they are able to get away with this kind of activity in such a massive scale.
Any avenues you may have would be helpful.
