Like many others, I'm sure. I found an add for an insurance agent position online. Also, a friend of mine gave United American my name. I thought, I really don't want to sell insurance but what the hey, I don't have a job now so I'll go to the interview. I get there and three or four other people are waiting to interview too. The guy comes in and says he wants to kill five birds with one stone so he's gonna do the interview with everyone together.
He talked about how so many people have coverage and say UA saved their lives. And he talked about how you can make so much money. He made it look so good... I could taste the money. But he said we had to get our insurance license first. He said we would have to show we're committed by paying for the classes ourselves but then we'd get reimbursed for it once we sold our first policy. Didn't happen that way.in fact, I sold policy after plicy and never got reimbursed.
Here's what I learned though. I learned that UA has crappy insurance. And they make the agents say whatever they can to make is sound better than it was. That's why I quit. We were told not to leave without a check. I didn't think that was right so I quit. For those looking for a job, don't go to United American Insurance. And for those looking for insurance, don't go to United American Insurance.
