My husband filled out an online loan application at a lender matching site. A representative, Tim O'Hara, from Oakwood Financial Lending Solutions contacted my husband by phone and advised that he had been approved for a $6000 loan. He explained that he would fax all the necessary documents (disclosure agreement, terms and conditions, etc.) and all we needed to do was sign the agreement and fax it back along with picture I.D., paycheck stub, voided check (so they could deposit money into our account) and a phone bill. Also, because of his credit rating the lender required a payment upfront of the first 6 months of payments which came to $911.51 We could send either check, money order, or send the money via MoneyGram. After they received the payment, the loan amount would be direct deposited into our account within 24 hours. They advised that they used "brokers" in our area and the money was to be sent to Todd Antley in Atlanta, Georgia. We sent the $911.51, and of course, 24 hours later we got nothing! I tried several times to contact Mr. O'Hara but could never get him. I did speak with another guy, Richard, (which by the way, sounded just like Tim O'Hara... Same voice) and he explained that Tim had misinformed us and that my husband was approved based on him paying 10 months upfront rather than 6 months. He advised if we sent another $900 the money would be in our account within 3 hours. This is the point where I told the gentleman he was crazy and that this was not legitimate and I wanted the money returned. At which point he told me that it would take 15-45 days to get a refund and that they would charge 36% penalty fee on the money. I have reported this company to the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) and BBB, but I want everyone to know this company is a F-R-A-U-D!!!
