Owns an account of MINE, and says they will eventually take me to court

I recently noticed a collection on my credit report from Pallisades Collection for $23.00 from Verizon! I promptly called Palisades and got nothing but an answering machine. I left a message and demanded they explain to me whare this 23 dollars was from, and how it is that I ever had an account with verizon. I waited all day and called again the next day about 14 times, leaving lengthy abnoxious messages. Finally I got a call back from a very smug guy, telling me they have outsourced these debts to a couple of different places, and he gave me two numbers. I answered back "THESE DEBTS. AS IN PLURAL, " Then i was told there was another debt not appearing on my credit reports going through UNIFUND. So I first called and paid the mesely 23 buck one, and then called UNIFUND expecting the worst. Sure enough they had bought out some debt from a 1999 citibank visa card, and were claiming that I owed 6700 bucks.

I looked over my credit reports, with them on the phone, and all I saw from citibank, was a 1999 card that was in good standing and had Paid as Agreed on it, they claimed it was a different account. And I told them, if its not on my credit report why do I care, and they stated that they, ever so often check my financial status, and if they feel I have the money, they will sue me whether or not it is SOL. And then I stopped talking, and promptly hung up the phone, fearing I was doing myself more harm then good. The original limit on this card was only 900 bucks. My question is, from what I have been through with creditors like asset acceptance and the like digging up old debts and surprising me on my credit report with them, and what I have heard these UNIFUND people do on sol accounts, should I make sure these people have my updated address info and the like, to prevent a surprise judgement against me. Also I am having trouble finding an up to date website or mailing address for these people. Can anyone make a suggestion.

Thanks for the help
