Drew Geyer STS Lending
Fraudulant "broker" took us for a ride

Last year we started thinking about buying a home, and so went on Lending Tree to see if any mortgage companies would finance us. (we had previous credit problems, bankruptcy, etc) We were contacted by STS Lending and we started the loan process with a broker named Mark Radom. We worked with him for several months and during that time we decided to have a home built which meant that we didn't need financing for about 6-8 months out.

Some time passed and we were contacted again by Drew Geyer from STS Lending, who told us that our original broker no longer worked for the company and he would be taking over our file. This started the insane process that led to me writing this report.

He started off by telling us that we were approved for a 100% loan, no problems whatsoever. There were many hours of phone calls hashing out the details. At some point during this time we were informed that he was put on 'outside sales' and that I needed to contact him on his cell phone since he was never in the office. I told my realtor this and she said that it wasn't unusual for this to happen so I didn't think anything of it.

Several weeks go by, during this time he kept in constant touch with us, all the while telling us that we are good to go, don't worry about the loan. I should have listened to my intuition.

It came to the point where the house was completed and we needed an appraisal done, and he became harder and harder to contact. Still, when we did talk to him, he said he re ran our credit and we were approved for a my community loan at 6.5% with no money down, and we could close 3 days after the appraisal came in. A week later he eventually ordered the appraisal (after much badgering by myself and my realtor). He said he would overnight the loan paperwork for us to sign as soon as the appraisal came in.

Naturally we were excited and my husband and I started to pack up our house, essentially packing everything except for what we absolutely needed. We have 2 little girls and all their toys were packed, all of our kitchenware, everything. We put orders in for utilities to be turned on at the new house. Then the waiting began.

Drew became impossible to contact. His voicemail was alaways full, or he just had his phone turned off. I tried to contact STS Lending and no one would call me back. We were living out of boxes waiting for this paperwork that was supposed to be overnighted to us. Finally after a week of hearing nothing from Mr. Geyer, my realtor finally gets a hold of him to hear that he had been 'on vacation' and we could close in 2 days. She says ok get us the paperwork.

That evening my husband contacts Drew to ask him what athe deal was. Drew told him that he had a 'family emergency' and that was why we couldn't get a hold of him. Was it a vacation or a family emergency? So my husband starts to grill him on our loan, and Drew finally admits that he no longer works for STS Lending and he can't do our loan. Apparently 'outside sales' means "I was let go."

He had been leading us on for at least a month, telling us that he was going to close our loan, pulling our credit report, and he didn't even work for the company. Our lives were turned upside down because of this man, and I now have to put fraud alerts on my credit because he is out there with all of my info.

My question is why would someone spend so many hours wasting time? Why would he outright lie to us? It is unbelievable to me that someone could do this.

If you ever hear the name Drew Geyer when you are applying for a loan run as fast as you can and don't look back.
