Complaint / Review
Island National Group, LLC / Pallino Receivables II, LLC, Fingerhut / Compu-Credit
Info on the "collection" tactics of the above mentioned CA's Ripoff

I pulled my CBR and saw that Island Nat'l Group was reporting me to the credit bureaus for $507.64, then I found out that it was for a Fingerhut acct. That I have never had.

I disputed this with the 3 CBR'S, and asked for VALIDATION of the debt. The coll. Agency responded by providing the verification that Experian received from them showing providing only my name, alleged balance, and acct. No.

I promptly sent a request for validation, not just verificaion of the info they sent to Experian. The letter the coll. Agency also advised that they had been hired by Pallino Receivables II, LLC to collect on the acct.

I called Fingerhut directly, and spoke with a rep that advised Fingerhut was bought out in 2002 and that CompuCredit had purchased the accts. That were in coll., and they would have no info on any accts. Beginning with 805.

Also, on my credit report it says that this account was scheduled to be removed in 2. That report was only abt. 2 mts ago, but when I pulled it again, it was showing 8.

I informed Alfie, (a rep @ Experian) about the date, and thatit had been changed. That rep told me to send proof that is what it said on my report, because he wasn't "just going to take my word for it".

I have disputed the debt with the CBR'S again, and with Island. I am also going to disp. It with CompuCredit and Fingerhut, the OC.

After insisting, I have the fax# for CompuCredit and the address.
I also have the fax # for Fingerhut.

CompuCredit fax# 320-229-8583/ address: PO Box 7999 St. Cloud MN.
36302

The fax # for Fingerhut is 320-237-9160. I can't find any info at all on Pallino. I've searched the web, but can't find anything.

I am also going to try to get the info on Axsys Nat'l Bank. I think that a dispute going to the OC may help.

I also think that the Credit Bureau Agency's and all other parties should be held responsible for reporting info that they either do, or should know is no correct.

I don't know much about this stuff, but I know that if these collections agencies are supplying things that are detrimental to our credit, it had better be 100% accurate.

I hope this helps some of you that may be in the same shape I am. I know this account is not mine, and even if it was the SOL is up.

I'm not sure who to contact about this, but I would think this is a violation of the FCRA/FDCPA to knowingly report this when it is innacurate.
