I attempted to get money from my account and discovered I was in the negative. When I investigated the account, I found a charge for $159.95 from EDP Card. Neither my wife nor I ever asked for this card nor did we authorize the removal of the funds from my bank account.
Attempts to contact the company were unsuccessful.
My wife contacted our bank who were, at first, insistent that we must have authorized the transaction. Being persistent, she contacted the bank's fraud 800# and reported the problem. After much discussion and quite a bit of time on the phone, the bank finally agreed to reverse the charge. THey also say that any overdraft fees incurred as a result of the transacton will be reversed as well.
Apparently, this card is in some way associated with online cash advance offers and that is where they obtain your banking info. Te company, EDP Card, is a complete scam.in addition to reporting them to our bank and here at Usa Consumer Complaints.com, we are notifying the attorney general for the state of Florida.
Oh, and the bank is going to take 48 hrs to give us our money back so we have to wait for that to happen but at least we are getting it.
