I went on-line searching for information on grants to help pay for my son's school. I am a single mom and trying to make ends meet.
What I found was grant search assistant and the offer for the cost of $1.95 to cover the postage they would send a free cd to try for a period of fourteen days and then I would need to cancel the service if I wasn't happy.
Fair enough right, wrong. What I received about two and a half weeks later was the cd and two days after that a notice from my bank that my account was over drawn.
What gsa did was bill my account for $29.95. As a resul tthe bank charged me a $32.00 service charge for not having sufficent funds in the account.
I immediately called gsa and the person on the line identified himself as christian. I told him my tale of woe and was informed that i was sent a e-mail clearly stating the policy.
I explained that i never received any e-mail period. He said you had two weeks to try it and you didn't cancel.
I then asked how I could possibly try the two week trial and cancel the service since the entire nightmare has only been three weeks.
Christian then informed me that I was sent a e-mail with info on how to use the service on-line without a cd.
I demanded an immediate refund and informed him, that I had stumbled onto your sight and found negative information about this co.
I again informed him I only agreed to pay the $1.95 postage.
As a result of this I now have to pay this overdraft fee. He said oh well.
I called my bank (Sun trust) and was informed that I must come into the bank in person and pay the negative balance and put my account on a no debit status and wait to see if this co. Refunds my account, to prevent this from happening to me again.
