Fraudulent dishonest company scamming people for $129.95

Recently I have filled out credit card applications online. I applied and was denied due to my credit history. On 12/4/06 I received a phone call from Jeff Hultquist.

He told me he was with Fidelity Credit and that I received a recent denial on line I said yes. Which is true. He said that he had a card that I qualified for I had a choice of Visa or Master card. I told him Visa card. He said that he needed to verify my bank account info to see if it is in good standing. So I gave him my info and told him that nothing was to be debited out of the account. He then said he would not debit any thing out of my checking account.

Then he told me that there is a one time membership fee and activation fee of 129.95 that would be charged to the card of a 500.00 limit leaving me a little over 300.00 limit. I said okay. He then said hold on and he would validate my account.

I then heard an automated voice say debit checking account then a man breathing hard in the phone and coughing so I didn't here what else she had said. So I said debit my checking account and the guy said no not debit your checking account. Your new credit account. I then said I just do not want my checking account debited. He then said I am not going to debit your checking account do you understand stand that say a clear yes. So I said yes. Then I herd a beep. He then told me I would receive a card in 7-10 days.

On Decemeber 8 2006 129.95 was debited from my account. I called the number that Jeff Hultquist gave me with his supposed ext and it rings and rings. So I called the number next to the debit from my account and a lady answered the phone and I told her who I was and my problem. The lady said she could not help me because they do not issue cards just a booklet to apply for cards and if I give her my account number she would let me here the automated voice that I said yes to. So I listened but it is a very unclear recording and I did say Yes however not to this. I told her I wanted a refund and she said not until I receive my welcome packet. I was very uneasy about this because I know I clearly heard him say I would receive a credit card with $500 limit. He even went on and on about being careful and building credit.

Then I told her that Jeff Hultquist lied and told me different and that they are scamming people I wanted my money back. She then told me that there was nothing she could do and that I wasn't getting my money back. She then hung up the phone. That lady wouldn't give me her name. I waited patiently for my welcome packet and once I received that on 1/4/07 I called back and got a recording telling me to leave a message. I left a message and heard nothing back.

On Monday 1/8/07 I called back and that same lady answered the phone by just saying hello, I said is this Fidelity credit and she said yes. I told her I was unhappy and that I wanted my money back. She said I had to call at least 3 cards in the book and get denied and send them in to get my money back. I called 3 companies within that book and all 3 said they did not know who Fidelity credit services was and had no affiliation with them. I then called back Fidelity and told the woman on the phone and she started being really rude and put me on hold then this guy Joe who was the manager came on and wouldn't listen to a word I said and was rude and arrogant and kept talking over me. I told him I wanted my money back or I was contacting my bank and the authorities. He said to send him a copy of my bank statement with my denial letter and I could get the money back in 4-6 weeks.

I contacted my bank on 1/9/07. I filled out paperwork to reverse the transaction and had to pay $20.00 for stop payment but will get a refund. I am contacted the local police in Largo and anyone else who will listen so nobody else get scammed like me.
