I recieved a collections notice from Afni Collections company telling me that I owed them $3,053.37 over a phone bill with verizon communications. The phone number is 260-744-3395, wherever that is, and has been disconnected. It is NOT my phone number, and never has been.
I called Verizon about my account and it is up to date, and they don't know Afni Collections. Afni are SCAM artists who will hurt your credit. And NOW according to Federal Law, I am the one that has to prove that this bill is not mine!!! Apparently, I am legally responsible unless I notify them in wriing that it is not my bill??? How can I ever prove it when all they have is a Post Office Box. Their phone number rings busy constantly as well.
I am burning MAD. Thanks to RIPOFF reports at least I know about about them. Is there anyone else to report this to?
