Today I caught Wilshire Consumer using fraudualent practices to collect a debt. They were also caught giving 3rd party information to people not on this contract. They will leave a message for you to call a 866 #. When you call, they pretend to be a repossession company. When I asked for their address, they refused to give the address. It is a tactic that is used to scare the consumer. They use a special program to also trap your phone # when you call the 866 #. This finance company company violated the FDCPA guidelines. I can prove that this 866 # is bogus. I tried to make payment arrangments in which they refused. When I talked to a supervisor, I advised him that his company was caught using deceptive means to collect a debt which is against the law, he tried to turn the conversation around and denied knowing anything about deceptive practices. He refused any payment arrangements. I am now seeking legal representation to pursue Wilshire Consumer for deceptive practices.
