About a month ago I saw an ad for freecreditreport.com on my Yahoo! Homepage so I clicked on it and signed up. It was "free" after all.
I've been trying to get credit so I can start building it up to get college loans and things like that, so I've been applying for credit cards. After every card I applied for I would get an email from FreeCreditReport.com saying my report was updated or that I had an alert that I hadn't read so I would go check it out.
Every credit card I had applied for was on there so I figured it wasn't a scam. That was until I had this mysterious 12.00 charge on my account. Shortly after that I overdrew my account, thinking I had more money than I did.
The charge was, of course, from "free" creditreport.com.
