I recently received a letter from NCO stating I owed $47.80 to AOL. Problem is I have NEVER had AOL in my life.
I have been the victim of identity theft but AOL was never brought up in that mess.
I have blown off the letter since trying to contact the company over the phone many times, only to get a recording or asked to leave a message.
I have went to the website they told me to and it just has a simple page stating I owed the money and has ways for me to pay.
I am wondering what I should do about the letter, if anything. I don't even know the first person to report it to. I am still in the process of clearing my credit from the girl who messed it up years ago. I don't want anymore negatives on there. I almost paid this just to keep it off my credit.
If anyone has any suggestions on what I should do please let me know. I probably would have paid it already if I had AOL before, but since I haven't it was a huge red flag.
Thanks
