I signed up with United Christian Financial back in February. I payed a $150 "refundable" deposit to this company and signed a contract. Basically, the deal was, UCF would hook me up with an attorney, The Law Offices of Richard A Brennan, and they would consolidate all of my 4 credit card payments into 1 monthly payment, reduce my interest rates and pay my bills for me. They were supposed to withdraw $157 from my checking account on the 17th of every month. $127 was to go to my creditor's and $30 to RA Brennan for their "services". Sounded like a good deal to me! Wrong! First, I began receiving calls from my creditors at the end of April indicating that they were not being paid. I looked at my bank statements and saw that the $157 was not being withdrawn from my account. So I called. They told me that it was a "system" error and that United Christian Financial never sent my checking account info over so they were unable to withdraw funds. I gave the info to her AND faxed over a copy of a voided check. Two weeks pass and I check my account, still no money has been withdrawn. I call again and speak to Andrew who tells me, Oooops, when Natasha entered my info in the system, she only entered it into one screen. It needed to be in two. So, he "fixed the problem" for me. June rolls around, start getting calls from the creditors again. Still, RA Brennan is not making payments and no money is withdrawn from my account. So, I make $200 payments to all my creditors to settle them down and call RA Brennan again. I speak to Joy. She tells me, oh, we just got a new computer system and some things got "lost in the shuffle". So she takes my info again an assures me all will be fixed. FINALLY, in June, $ was taken from my account, however, no payment was made.in July, another payment was taken but again, no payment was made. I called and demanded to speak to a manager because I had paid $471 and no payments were made on my account. I was told it would be 24-48 hrd for a return call. I said fine, put me on the list but I want to talk to someone. I received no phone call back. At then end of July, payments were finally made to my creditor's. Oh, the excitement! Another $157 was taken from my account Aug. 17. At the end of August I checked with my creditors to see if more money had been paid on my account and guess what I found. NO, no additional payments had been made and the ones that were made in July were all returned for Non Sufficient funds. So, the payments they did make, the friggin checks bounced. I was pissed. I called and called and everytime I did I got a message saying the "mailbox was full". Or the phone would jsut ring and ring. Today is Nov. 27th and I still have yet to get a hold of these thieves. I have put in a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, the Maryland Attorney Grievance Committee and the Maryland Attorney General. Law Office of RA Brennan has been forced to respond to these complaints and in all of them they state, they never took money from my account (I have bank statements showing their name on ALL of the debits from my account), that when they did make payments on my behalf everything was fine (I have statements from all my creditor's showing that these payments were returned for NSF) and that none of this is their fault as Credit Cure went out of business (I signed up with United Christian Financial, who the hell is Credit Cure and what do I care if they are out of business?) So, at this point, I need to sue these jerks! Because of them my credit score went from a 630 to a 400! I have been charged over $2,000 in over limit fees, late payment fees and returned check fees that I feel RA Brennan is responsible for. I am pissed! Beyond pissed! Obviously if I am signing up with a debt consolidation company, I am not in the best financial position. To steal from someone like me is beyond LOW.
