I purchased a mobile home over 10 years ago with a partner with a loan by GreenTree. To make a long story short, a legal battle ensued and a federal court order awarded my partner the mobile home as well as the responsibility of paying the loan.
A few years later, Greentree harassed me on a regular basis for a couple months, trying to strong arm me into paying back the loan. Apparently, my former partner failed to repay the loan. I sent them a copy of the federal court order and filed a report with the Federal Trade Commission, the State Banking Department, and the local police. At the very least they violated state law. One of the law enforcement officers on the case said that he had told them not to call again.
The harassment stopped until recently when they called and asked for me to violate the federal court order. I again had to file a report with local police for harassment. This time they didn't stop with the harassing phone calls. They sent their goon out to my residence who tried to strong arm me into paying them money. I told him to get lost and called the police. This time, they violated state and local laws. Now they're sending me threatening letters in the mail, possibly breaking federal law.
I've sought legal council, notified authorities, even my congressman to no avail. The harassment continues. They won't get my money even though they are able to continue and harass me.
Bottom line, if you need a loan, don't get one from these guys.in my opinion, they are one big organized crime syndicate.
