My husband and I met with J.K. Harris in Greenbelt, Maryland in September. The represenative told us that the company could negotiate our tax situation with IRS and assist us with negotiations to reduce our overall overdue tax bill and eliminate the fines and penalites with IRS. We were given a contract to secure the services of J.K. Harris.

We paid an upfront fee of $2500 and we were asked to sign an installment plan to cover the services of J.K. Harris to work with IRS. We were also briefed on J.K. Harris' ability to reduce and combine our existing credit card debts. This also required signing a contract and agreeing to a payment plan.

J.K. Harris reqested copies of several documents in reference to our credit situation. We provided all the documentation that was required. We were told that a counselor would be contacting us for an interview. We did not receive a call for an interview, I called and arranged for the phone interview. Again we did not see any results from J.K. Harris as to resolving our IRS situation or assistance with our credit card debts.

After 8 months and no action on the part of J.K. Harris to contact us with an resolution to our tax problem, I contacted J.K. Haris and spoke with a represenative in reference to our situation. I told him that we were highly unsatisfied with the lack of response and results to handle our case. I ask for a refund of all our funds for both the tax case and for the debt consolidation. The agent told me that I would have to put my request in writing to the finance office. He also told me that I could state in the letter, that I had spoken with him.

I did write the letter requesting a full refund of all our monies and I expressed my concern that this company had not produced any of the committed efforts to solve our tax/credit siuation.

To this date, I have not received a written or phone respnse from J.K. Harris. I e-mailed the letter, I also sent the letter by registered mail. I have sent reminders to the company, but no one has made any effort to contact us.

For the past 3 months, we have received disturbing phone calls day and night from a finance company hired by J.K. Harris to collect the funds from customer that J.K. Harris is supposed to represent for debt consolidation. When we agreed to have J.K. Harris represent us with the debt consolidation, we were told that paying a fee for this service monthly from my checking account would be the most efficient means to resolve the credit card debt. Again, we never received any information as to this problem being resolved.

Once I realized that we were paying for a service we were not receiving and when I did not receive a response to my complaint to J.K. Harris, I contacted my bank and cancelled the withdrawal fee for the debt consolidation service that we have yet to receive. My bank charged $60.00 to put a cancellation on that allotmment.

This finance company contacted us via phone and wanted to know why we were not paying for this service. I informed them that we had stopped payment, due to notification to J.K. Harris and that we would not continue paying for a service we have not been provided. We told this company that they should have been notified by J.K. Harris to discontine billing us.

The company was not aware that we had cancelled the service. Since my husband and I did not negotiate this servcie with the finance company "Professional Fee Financial Associates" we did not feel it was necessary for us to contact the finance company. This should have been taken care of by J.K. Harris.

Even though we explained to this finance company that we would not continue paying for this service and that they should contact J.K. Harris, the company continues to harass us every day.

Not only are we out of over $8,000.00, we constantly receive phone calls from a company we did not obtain services from.

J.K. Harris without any regards to customers financial or mental situation, blatanly takes advantage of people. We were told in good faith that they could assist us with reducing our IRS tax debt and credit card debt. For every part of this agreement, J.K. Harris should be held accountable.
