Fortunately consumer complaints saved me!
I saw the HomeStuffers ad in the San Diego PennySaver and called the number, which gave a brief description of how I could earn $1400 a week stuffing envelopes. I left my mail address.
Today I received a form requesting $45.00 as a deposit to get started. What caught my attention was the two telephone numbers were not San Diego numbers even though the form was mailed in San Diego. The 1st number; 212-946-5736 only has a message describing the opportunity and has no means to leave a message in return. The second number, which on the form, is to be called if you don't receive the ordered materials in 3-4 weeks, is a "Customer Service Number, but the mail box is full.
I decided to check HomeStuffers on the internet and found usacomplaints.com, which has plenty to say about HomeStuffers!
