I am starting my own business and very eagerly went in search of the "Free Money". I found MGR Solutions and they seemed perfect! I did the meager online application and received a voicemail saying that I had been approved for a grant of a minimum of $25,000.
I was very stunned to say the least since I had not provided ANY of the business stats, budgets, set up costs, etc... I called them back and spoke to a Mr. Hayes who was superbly reassuring.
Before actually speaking to him, I did more and more research only to discover that the government does indeed give grants but NEVER to start up or expand a business. When I brought this to Mr. Hayes' attention, he said the funding was via a private grant system. I was informed of the process and of course, the clear instructions to send $349 to them - AND only by a certified check. He expressed that they did not want any of my personal information for my own security protection! LOL
They did email their company policy & agreement which I was to initial and mail back to them with my check. I read that document very carefully and it states that by accepting the agreement, they are not obliged to do anything at all, including fulfil any services or end products.
I emailed them back with the following information (which I was able to dig up). I don't expect a response and am glad that I did not fork over the money:
- According to the United States Patent & Trademark office, "MRG Solutions" is not a registered trademark.
- MGR Solutions is not listed in the Texas phone directory
- The address given is actually a Post Office Box.
- The BBB has tried to contact you but you have not replied:
- Two reports have been filed regarding issues: http://usacomplaints.com/reports/ripoff188565.htm
- Your website says that you have been operating for 11 years but your website name has only been in existance since February.
- State taxes have not been filed for MGR Solutions.
Just wanted to let people know and give you a friendly warning...
