I thought freecreditreport was free. I was not happy when I saw charges on my credit card for their service. I called my card company to have the monthly charges stopped and a refund issued. They said that I must call freecreditreport and ask them first, to show good faith.
I called freecreditreport (877 481-6825). After a few minutes of them trying to convinced me of the value of their service, they agreed to a refund and to stop billing me. The refund will take seven to ten days.
At this point I am pleased with their response but I reserve full judgement until I receive the refund.
