Well a while back I signed up for a free credit report. I got my free credit report at the time and forgot about cancelling the membership. That's not the issue.
The issue is that they misled me into believing that I could see my credit score at any time for $12.00/month. This is not the case. They only provide "monitoring for suspicious activities that could affect my credit score without me knowing, " that is what the operator said when I called up to cancel today.
They were desperate to keep me, offering me incremental "bribes" to stay with their program. First offering me another credit report for only $5 and then offering me a free $25 dollar prepaid Mastercard or Visa. But I insisted on saying "No, please cancel me. There are no cancellation fees, correct?" To which the operator replied, "None."
Will post again if they charge me any additional fees or did in fact not cancel my membership, as I have heard from several other members.
