I got this post card in the mail the other day that said I might be eligible for a goverment grant for 5000.00. I made sure to read the whole thing front and back looking for any small print that said we had to pay for anything. Nothing was found. All it said was to call this number, and within 30 minutes I could be approved.in bold letters it said call for FREE applacation.
When I called I filled out a VERY LONG applacation and was on hold for a LONG time before the woman on the phone finally came back and said I was approved for a minimum of 5000.00. I thought oh wonderful, i could really use the money. She put me on hold again and when she came back she asked if I had a banking account. I said yes and tried to ask her why she needed that information. She cut me off and went on this big spell about how i was going to get this 5000.00, and it was gurenteed, and the only thing she needed was a one time fee of 299.99.
Well at this point I knew something was up. I kept the woman on the phone for about 10 minutes telling her i was looking for my check book. When I got back on the phone I told her that I was sorry but I didnt have the money right now. I told her that since I was going to be getting a check in the mail, I told her to take the 299.99 out of the money I was going to get and just send me the balance.
She promptly hung up on me!
So everyone just be careful of people out there and the supposed grats they can give you for that one time fee. Grants are supposed to be free. And the information that comes with them are free too.
