Ripoff harrassing collections calls

I am late on my car payment by 3 weeks. Chase Manhattan Bank called my house and I told them I would write a check and send it right in. Less than 1 week later, they began to call again. I did not pick up as I sent the check and they called 14 times in one day! Is this harrassment?

I admit I am late on my payment, but I don't think three weeks' late warrants 14 calls per day!
