I received a call from a guy who identified himself as Chris Wilson and he stated he worked for Advantage America who gave out grants especially for furthering education. He asked if I was interested, and I told him I was not sure but to tell me more. He gave me a sugar coated story of what the grant could do and how it would benefit me and how legitimate their company was since it had America in its name.
I was bought (like an idiot) and gave him the information he required. I asked him for his information and he quickly gave them to me making me even more trusting in his business.
The next night, I called my banks automated teller to check my account as I did every Saturday night when I balanced my checkbook. My bank account was completely wiped out!!! Everything was gone! I burst into tears. I could not believe it. I was swindled. I felt so stupid.
I have no choice now but to wait until Monday to go to the bank and see what could be done. I doubt they can return my money but writing about it here will warn others about this illegitimate company.
Being a foreigner in this country made me very vulnerable also. I just could not believe that people could be so fierce and dishonest. You can guarantee that from now on, I will be very careful about giving information to anyone.
