On 11/4/05 my Purpose Card was debited $129.99 without my authorization by Bank of America Privacy Source due to their inepth customer service procedures. On 11/14/05, I contacted Purpose Card and hit the roof. Some yahoo by the name of John who sounded like Gumby on Crack told me once I received my dispute form to fax it back to 678-259-8068 for faster service in order to get my money back right away. The form and cover letter dated 11/14/05 of course was not received until some 8 days later however, upon receipt I faxed both pages and instructed Purpose Card to PROVIDE ME WITH A SIGNED CONTRACT where I authorized BoA Priv Source to invade my account.

Mind you NO WHERE on the cover page did it indicate that the process would take 2 WEEKS instead the letter clearly stated "the provisional amount of $129.99" would be returned to my account and upon the completion of the investigation depending on the outcome would determine the next step.

After some 3 days, I contacted Purpose to find out where the hell my money was. Another crack infested yahoo named Adrian tried to explain to me the process would take 2 weeks. This is not India but I am the sacred COW no doubt. I immediately asked to speak to a floor supervisor (of course none were available) then I asked for the direct number to the dispute department (of course there is no direct number). I was told I could be transferred to the department. Red Alert, Red Alert - the best way to be disconnected between departments. After being put on hold some 5 minutes I was connected to yet another dork that I could not hear. Lo and behold, I was disconnected. Calling back did not aid the situation since I could not get through. Imagine that.

The Purpose Card SUCKS royally. They nickle and dime you for everything. To speak with a live person costs almost $2.00 and to hear your automated account balance is. 95. What a true rip off. Customer service should be free since I'm depositing my entire payroll check (in the hundreds of dollars) every two-weeks where the "maintenance fee" is yet again some $3.95. The mistakes that have been made have been tremendous.

I urge any and everyone NOT to utilize the Purpose Card! A rip-off in its finest fashion. Looks like I will be contacting the FTC to file a formal complaint.
