First i wish to say that my first run in with this bank was horrible. Now i admit paying my bills is my responsibility i lost income and fell behind 31 days. At this point Crescent Bank and Trust sent a repo company out and snatched my car out of the garage and dragged it about 150 feet squealling tires and alarming all my neighbors. The car now has transaxle trouble. Ok this happened when Hurricane Katrina went through New Orleans and my loan was serviced through that branch. Well not knowing what to do as i only had the number for them in New Orleans time was ticking by and i was doing everything possible to contact them to get my car back. Well after some digging i finally got ahold of the bank and found out what i had to do. But all this time going by not knowing who to contact the wheels of progression kept turning costing me even more money. So i get the car caught up to date paid 1268 dollars which included the 425.00 Reposession fee. And finally after 15 days get my car back.
OK Now over vacation i broke two of my ribs and was waiting for my Short term disability to kick in to start recieving pay so i can pay my bills. Again i am falling behind and not even 30 days goes by i start getting the phone calls.
The first indvidual i spoke with was very nice and i told her what was going on and we made a VERBAL agreement. That was a mistake. That following monday she called again i told her i had allready spoke with someone about the agreement and everything was supposed to be ok so i let it go thinking things were fine.
Again the following day ANOTHER phone call from John G. Who was very nice he said he saw the notes and that everything was fine and he told me what i was due for so on and so forth. Again the next day another call this time i didn't make it home in time to call the man back i was out getting my MRI done for my injury.
Now i go the following day which was Thursday and i made my payment via money gram just as i had agreed and that left me due for my current month which i'm intending to pay and i am not even out of my grace period. So i call the bank and tell them the confirmation on the wire and she said well i owe my payment plus a 425.00 fee. I immediatly knew what that fee was being i had payed it allready before she stated that i had to pay the repo fee to cancel it. I was outraged.
I made an agreement on this and the fee wasn't there when i spoke to John G on tuesday but since i missed my phone call on wednesday the kind rep threw the fee on my account. I told the rep that i had an agreement and that there was never any fee before well somehow the notes that John G verified seeing all of a sudden dissapeared. She told me that the payment i had back when i paid to get my car back was reversed. How is that i did it with money gram and i have the reciepts and called it in. She also told me that money gram payments take a few days to clear yet i have been told that it only takes 15 minutes.
She had me even FAX the reciept from Moneygram and Walmart where i sent the payment from just for proof. This bank is a total mess and i am hoping to get my financing away from them as i am not paying the 425 dollar fee because i had an agreement with them to pay and i made every effort to communicate with them on the matter. If given the chance i would sue for harrasment and unfair business practice and they need to put thier heads together to figure out what eachother is doing. If you can stay away from them if you have problems they will hunt you down and keep punching you while your down.
