I have written my sad story on here before after becoming an Ameritheft customer but now they have really justified their company as being fraudulent, lying, theiving and downright disrepectful to their customers.
My second year with this company begins Jan. 1. I fell behind last year in my payments but this year I have paid on time and have actually made my payments early, even to submit 2 payments in one month. I am now paid until Feb. 1.
I have cleaned up my credit report, even after a bankruptcy last April, and have raised my credit score by 50 points. I have made early payments and paid ahead knowing that Ameritheft could change my percentage rate (now 8.5) in Jan.
Wouldn't you know... I received a letter yesterday that they are raising my percentage rate 2% and my house payment $200 a month. My percentage rate now... As you see... Is over 10%. Unreal!!! I see now that all the early payments and overpayments that they applied towards suspense even though I had specifically stated be applied towards principle were for nothing.
I researched and found that if it was specifically noted to apply an overpayment to principle, by law, this was to be done. But of course, Ameritheft has not done this.
I have been in constant contact with an employee from the "office of the president" who is just as unprofessional as the reps I've spoken to in the past. I called her yesterday evening (Virginia Gutierrez) and every time I tried to speak, she spoke over me stating I was to read my contract.
She would listen to nothing I had to say. I hate to say, but I became unglued and said things I probably shouldn't have but a person can only take so much. After telling her what I thought of her and her company, she hung up on me. Not surprising... Has happened to me many times.
I have yet to find a mortgage company who will help me get out from this hell of a mortgage I have now. I don't understand since I have a CD that could serve as collateral and I could pay the outrageous prepayment penalty of over $6,000 before being refinanced. I could even put down a little money but, mortgage companies don't care when they see that bankruptcy in my credit report. Why can't companies look at the past history of the individual before they married an ass who ruined them financially?
Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions or company that would take a look at me and know I am fully prepared to make my payments to them on time, please let me know. I have gained a little more financial stability now and need to get away from this horrible company before they suck me dry. If I'm willing to pay the $6,000 plus to refinance, you know I'm desperate!!!
