I signed up for school on the internet and filled out some grants. I recieved a phone call from this company stating that I was going to recieve $12,500 dollars in grant money from the goverment that I do not have to pay back. I ask the lady am I really recieving $12,500 and she sad yes and gave me her badge number which is 701014. She explained to me that I will be getting a welcome package in the mail that Monday and that I had to look over the information.in the package would be $500 in coupons and for me to take it to the bank and cash it and to put $50 of it into my account so that they could take that out for a processing fee. I thought it was all good because like I said I was filling out grants for school.
That Monday came and I did not recieve anything in the mail. For some reason I got this pain in my gut that said that I have been scammed. I called that 800 number they gave me (1-800-503-7345) and I could not get through, the phone just rang. So by the time 5: oo pm came the machines came on.
When I got to work Tuesday I called and talked to someone name Jamar and he said that they don't call to tell you that you will be recieving grant money. He said the only thing that they do is help you by sellin you information on how to apply for grant money. Then I told him about my phone call and he looked me up and could not find anything on me. I stated to him that I think that I have been scammed and He appologized for who ever it was for using their company and that this was not the first time. He told me to contact my bank, which I did.
I went down to close out my account and thank GOD that I had that feeling and they were not able to do any damage to my account. But now I have to get all of my direct deposit whiched.
People, what sounds too good to be true, really is. Please be careful.
