I have never heard of a bank that does not deposit cash right away. I deposited cash in my account early this morning. When it was still not available this afternoon, I called a Customer Service Rep and was told that the cash would not be available until the following day! I have never heard of this.
Also, he said if anything came through before they posted the cash - which they would post debits FIRST that they would be charged the NSF fee of $36.00 each! I made online payments using my account assuming the cash was there NOW! I am concerned that companies that post right away will cause a major negative effect to my account.
Is this legal? Can they not post CASH until the following day yet post online payments so they can charge the $36 fee?
