First of all I would like to say Hello to my fellow card members. The fact that the Beast is still in business is amazing! These are a couple of things I do to help relieve the stress of Cross Country Bank is I use my call forwarding during the hours of 0800 to 9:00 pm when I want to screw with them. Or I use my caller I.D. And if it comes up "unavailable" I just don't answer it. Also on the caller I.D. I check to see what area code it is from: Delaware, Florida, W Virginia, Etc.
Next when I correspond with them by mail I send it Certified Mail with a return notification. When I write them I keep a total of the fee's that they charge me and asked that they subtract those fee's before I send them a payment. Of course they will not do anything except write you back and advise all the charges are valid! By documenting all this information you have a chance to refute their reporting's to the credit bureau's.
Just remember don't give any money to a collection agency, because the damage is done and Cross Country Bank is responsible.
For those who would like to write or e-mail their state U.S. Congress Person, have your representative forward your complaint to Chairman Spencer Bachus of the Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit.
