We went to do a refinance, and were offered the best rates with BLS Funding. We were told that even though our home had 45 acres they were only going to put 5 acres on the loan because of the value of our home. When refinancing they were combining all of our bills with new mortgage, they were going to include the insurance and taxes into escrow, just like our first mortgage and we would have just one bill. All of this and WOW our closing costs would only be $300.00 which we had to pay the aprraiser when they came.
When paperwork came, the notary came to our home to have us sign, she was 2 days late and ended up throwing papers in front of us asking us to sign. After she left, when looking at the paperwork I noticed that there were $8,000.00 in closing costs.
I then began making other phone calls to see if our other bills were paid off and they were NOT. I called Andrew Salek to discuss this with him. He said that they made a mistake with the paperwork with our loan and 5 others and that it was in compliance and this individual was not there. They would definately get back to us. I called the next day, he said they owed us a check for $5,000.00 it would be in the mail. It never came. I called the next day, he said that H&R Block Mortgage was working on the problem, because they were not taking out our taxes or insurance either and they would get it straightend out.
After a daily log of phone calls and notations, I called back and asked for the compliance officer. This person did not come in the office every day, did not know the case. Andrew Salek then gave me the phone number to H&R Block Mortgage. They had no idea what we were talking about. Did I forget to say that H&R Block was the second mortage company that picked up our mortgage. After inquiring about this mess to them, because we had damage to our home from a storm, we found that they had no idea why our insurance was not paid, it must have been an error, and yet we could not put in a claim. And yes, the next week we received notification that our mortgage was again sold to Willshire Mortgage.
What did we get out of this mess, a higher mortgage, that did not include the taxes and insurance, still owing our other monthly payments because nothing was paid off except the first mortgage and home equity loan. And now after paying on our home for 6 years without ever having a problem with our original company, we are in foreclosure and bankruptcy.
I called BLS Funding to ask who carried their errors and ommissions insurance, Andrew Salek was going to get back to me. Not to my surprise, no one has ever called.
If an attorney reads this letter, I am broke, we have lost everything, I have a log of my conversations, copies of correspondence and would love to sue them. However our bankruptcy attorney tells me that we have to have a retainer. Obviously we don't have one. So if any lawyer out there wants to look at this case, please contact me at [email protected]. As for anyone else thinking of doing business with BLS Funding, Don't... You will end up losing.
